The Arena Multiespacio Shopping Centre brings together nearly a hundred shops dedicated to fashion.
Chapman Taylor requested a large 6,000 m² canopy to protect the space and convey an open-air experience.
A three-level structure that allows natural ventilation inside and smoke evacuation in case of fire.
Our challenge: optimising climatic conditions and enhancing commercial activity by means of a transparent ETFE roof.
TECHNICAL BASE
What is transparency?
When we apply this term to an ETFE roof, we can say, simply put, that it means seeing the outside clearly, watching the clouds pass by. This is what you feel inside Arena Multiespacio: a large transparent canopy that protects customers and allows natural ventilation of the building.
IASO inflated cushion system
The cushions are made of two or more ETFE sheets sealed around their perimeter and fixed to an aluminium perimeter anchoring system. They require a low-humidity, low-pressure (250 Pa) air inflation system, produced by a unit consisting of fans and air distribution ducts. The IASO solar control cushion system, with a movable intermediate sheet and printed upper and intermediate layers, makes it possible to modulate the passage of light and solar radiation.
