HIGH RESISTANCE COVERS

Covers for large pools

IASO’s large-pool covers —designed for Olympic pools, municipal facilities and sports centres— significantly reduce evaporation, preserve water temperature and simplify daily maintenance. Manufactured to measure for 25- and 50-metre pools (and special formats), they can be paired with industrial manual or motorised rollers for agile and safe handling.

HIGH RESISTANCE COVERS

A large-pool cover (also known as a macro-cover) is a technical solution designed for high-volume pools with intensive use. Its main function is to limit evaporation —the greatest source of energy loss—, help maintain warm water during the night or periods of closure, and protect the surface from debris, dust and contaminants. In sports and municipal facilities, this translates into water and energy savings, lower consumption of chemical products and improved stability of water quality, with less time spent on cleaning and balancing tasks.

At IASO, we manufacture each system to the exact geometry of the pool (25 m, 33 m, 50 m, movable floors, beach entries and access zones), with perimeter reinforcements, eyelets and towing bands adapted to the site’s operational needs. The covers can be combined with high-capacity industrial rollers —manual, mechanically assisted or fully motorised— and, when required, with guiding tracks to enable aligned deployment across lanes. Materials are formulated to withstand chlorine, salt and UV radiation, with weights and finishes selected according to indoor use (thermal priority) or outdoor conditions (exposure to weather). Periodic cleaning is carried out with water and neutral detergent, as part of the facility’s maintenance plan.

For Olympic or municipal pools operating morning and evening, using the cover during nights and swimmer-free intervals reduces thermal losses, limits evaporation and optimises replenishment. In cold climates or large-volume installations, the impact on air conditioning and operational costs is particularly significant. Important: these covers are not walk-on safety systems and do not replace barriers or preventive protocols; their objective is efficiency, water protection and operational ease.
