The main stand of the Stade Boiron-Granger features a single-layer ETFE roof that redefines the spectator experience: it provides protection without obstructing the sky and adds structural lightness to a historic venue in the southeast of Lyon. IASO took part by manufacturing, and installing the 12 membranes that follow the trapezoidal geometry of the metal structure, creating a translucent and highly efficient ensemble.
TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL INNOVATION
The roof uses a single-layer ETFE system to minimise weight (≈1 kg/m²) and loads on the existing structure. Perimetral aluminium profiles ensure uniform tension, while stainless steel cables aligned with the slope provide the system with stability against wind and suction. Installation was completed in two weeks without interfering with the sporting season.
