Description ETFE ROOF - THERMES VALS LES BAINS

This project consists of the rehabilitation and expansion of the spa complex of Vals-les-Bains, which is located in the Ardèche region in France.

The new section of the complex houses a spa with a drop-shaped swimming pool, a solarium and several treatment spaces that allow the range of services at the centre to be expanded.

Along with the wooden structure and its pool, the ETFE cushion cover in the form of a drop allows natural light to illuminate this space. The special transparency of the ETFE cushion allows the necessary rays to pass through, providing a comfortable atmosphere in the solarium area.

3 ETFE cushions with 4 layers and different shapes are arranged in this extension of the centre, covering a total area of 104 m2.

Technical Base

This work was carried out according to the approved IASO AVIS TECHNIQUE system for ETFE cushions.

Each ETFE cushion is made of 4 transparent layers, with the aim of improving the lighting comfort of the spaces in which they are located.

The perimeter of the roof finished with aluminium flashings and a waterproofing membrane integrated into the roof frame.
This ensures that the roof is water- and air-tight.
