ROOF COVERING CENTRAL COURTYARD RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
Light that shapes the interior
In this building, the central void acts as a space for connection and distribution. The skylight introduces a light layer that protects without enclosing, allowing light to continue descending to the heart of the building. The ETFE printing does not aim to block, but to soften: a graphic gesture that reduces direct incidence and adds a richer reading of the space.
Throughout the day, light transforms across walls and walkways, creating a changing atmosphere that accompanies the daily life of the building. The intervention does not interrupt clarity or visual continuity; instead, it organises it with discretion, adding a more refined and contemporary dimension to the whole.
TECHNICAL BASE
The solution is resolved through a printed single-layer ETFE skylight, a material that combines lightness, high light transmission and outdoor resistance. The printing makes it possible to slightly regulate radiation and add an aesthetic component without compromising the luminosity of the space.
From the user’s point of view, the benefit is immediate: the central courtyard is protected from the weather while maintaining broad and comfortable natural lighting. The cover helps improve the building’s habitability, creating a more stable and pleasant interior space where light remains the main feature, now with a more controlled and expressive presence.
