The Massillon School in Paris has decided to construct a new 3 floor building with exterior staircases. In order to protect the children leaving the classrooms, the design of this building incorporates a metal structure covered with transparent ETFE canvas on the top floor, as a pergola.
TECHNICAL BASE
The metal structure is built out of tubular profiles whose joints are bolted on site and lacquered in apple green.
The roof is divided into 3 transparent ETFE membranes reinforced by stainless steel cables positioned in the direction of the incline.
A further, very discrete, rectangular section aluminium profile is used to fix the ETFE membranes, inside of which the membrane tensioning system is hidden.
